What to Expect

We're thankful that you are interested in Faith Fellowship, and we want to be as helpful as we can to make your visit to our church a good experience. We want to be a blessing to you; we know your presence will be a blessing to us!

Dress

Some people dress up, and others dress casually. Come the way that you feel most comfortable.

Parking

Our parking lot is accessible from Old Telegraph Road. If you are coming from Telegraph, turn onto Old Telegraph and then turn left immediately to enter the church parking lot behind the church. We have special parking spots for guests and pregnant mothers or those with infants. In the area closest to the church, there is handicapped parking and parking for seniors. The main entrance to the church faces Telegraph Road, under the big white pillars. An elevator for those who have difficulty with stairs is located at the back entrance (closest to the handicapped parking).

Regathering

We know that as the Body of Christ, we are designed to live out our faith in communion with other believers. Scripture exhorts us: "And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near." (Hebrews 10:24-25, ESV) We have experienced a season of being unable to meet in person, followed by a long season of uncertainty that kept many at home. But we believe now is the time to regather and rebuild! We hope you'll join us in serving one another and our community as the local Body of Christ at Faith Fellowship. We do still stream our services online for those who are unable to attend, but we encourage you to come in person if you are able.

Masking

We have had stringent protocols in place, but have been relaxing those as conditions have changed. Currently, some of us wear masks, and some of us don't according to personal preference. We follow CDC and Virginia Department of Health Guidelines (VDH). Guidance changes with the prevailing COVID-19 community level, but when Fairfax County is having a low level of transmission, we do not require masks. VDH advises wearing a mask based on your personal preference and your level of risk of developing severe illness. VDH also recommends wearing a mask in the following situations:

  • If you have symptoms of COVID-19 (we hope you are able to stay home in this case)
  • If you are in the 10 days after a positive COVID-19 test and are around other people, or
  • If you are in the 10 days after an exposure to someone with COVID-19 and are around other people

Children

Our nursery for infants and toddlers opens ten minutes before the service. Some people bring their children to the nursery then, and some bring them after the music part of our service.

Children in grades K-6 come to the Sanctuary upstairs with their families for the music part of the service, then have the option to go downstairs to our educational facility for Faith Kids Children's Church, where they have lessons, games, music, and activities that help them learn about God in ways they can understand.

We follow Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) practice for masking and distancing. Currently, FCPS does not require students and teachers to wear masks.

Music

This time is set aside for communicating with God from our hearts.  We have worship with a live band leading contemporary worship songs along with more traditional hymns. Everyone worships in their own unique way – for many, that means standing, singing, and clapping, and for others it means sitting and quietly reflecting on the words. You are welcome to do whatever helps you experience God in a meaningful way.

Offering

One of the ways we worship God is through the giving of tithes and offerings. As a guest, please do not feel any pressure to give.  This is an act of worship for our regular attenders, allowing us to thank God for what he is doing in our lives. As a result of the COVID pandemic, we no longer pass an offering plate during the service. Offering plates are available for in-person giving near each entrance to the Sanctuary. You may also choose to give online.

Sermon

Every weekend, you will hear a thoughtful, engaging, relevant message based on Scripture that you can apply to your life right away. We find these messages will help you develop an authentic, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and provide a strong biblical foundation for your life.

Communion

We celebrate communion together monthly, usually on the first Sunday. Anyone who has made a commitment to follow Jesus Christ is welcome to partake of the bread and juice that represent Jesus' suffering and death for our salvation.
